Winter Wonderland in Colorado

It’s the day after Thanksgiving and I’m sitting by the crackling fireplace at my parent’s house in snowy Evergreen, Colorado writing this post. Life is good. After the beautiful snowstorm yesterday on Thanksgiving, I took some time to explore around outside. That’s another thing I miss about living in San Francisco, no snow! To bundle up for the exploration, I broke out my Sorel’s and a plaid jacket with a white fleece lining. I highly recommend investing in nice snow boots if you are traveling to Colorado, they are a necessity. I like these high Sorel’s since you can tramp in about a foot of snow… Great for sledding.

5 Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

Last weekend, my friends and I threw a Friendsgiving. That term is so overused this time of year, but it is the best way to celebrate when you can’t see your family during the holiday. Or in my case when you can see them but just want to eat Thanksgiving dinner twice! For this occasion, I paired a loose-fitting A-Line suede dress with a wrap scarf and some booties. It was thankfully not that cold out last weekend, but for these upcoming cold nights, I recommend pairing this dress with a jacket, sweater, or in my case, wrap scarf.

What I’m Wearing:

This got me thinking of what to wear for Thanksgiving… so I came up with

3. A fancy holiday dress with tights (slightly obsessed with the ones at Anthropologie)
4. A casual knit with a flow-y skirt (see J. Crew)
5. A shirtdress with tights (all about the comfort here, check out Banana Republic)

City Chic for Winter

If there is one item I love for winter and fall it is a long, chic coat. This season has been all about long layers, from sweaters to coats. I am LOVING this trend. I finally found a coat that is perfect for work and play from Beginning Boutique, an Australian brand. It looks great with an all black outfit for a more casual look, but also would pair well with a dress for work.

5 Ways to Layer for Winter

I spent last Sunday doing my favorite thing, wandering around my neighborhood and taking in the new and old sights with a cup of coffee in my hand. San Francisco has been getting pretty chilly in the past few weeks, so I am constantly thinking of creative ways to layer for winter. I have been all about dressing up shorts with tights, so here is what I came up with…

4. Knee high socks or socks under rain boots (love these from Hunter)
5. Fingerless Gloves (I have thirfted some, but there are super cute ones on Etsy)
