About 6 months ago, my fiancé Joe and I moved into a new apartment in Denver! We had been traveling for a year after our move from LA, and had no set plans to return to the states earlier this year. After recovering from a very serious sickness earlier in the year (started when I was in Japan and has taken almost a year for recovery – more on this later if requested) we are into the new groove here living in Denver. And we *finally* finished furnishing our place after selling all our stuff when we left LA to travel. I’m so excited to show you our boho + plant decor from Green Lady Gardens in our new place!
I am from Denver, so living here again isn’t new for me. In fact, I love it! Denver has such a vibrant artist community that we love and it took about 2 weeks or less until we met lifelong friends. This is a huge contrast to LA where it took quite a while to find friends I resonated deeply with. Probably because we resonate on a whole new frequency now – not bad or good just… different 🙂
Wherever life takes me next – shoutout to those who have been following this blog since I started it when I moved to San Francisco all those years ago!! – I always try and connect with locals of the community. Even when we traveled, we made it a point to find local events and restaurants to connect with the community. We even stayed a month or more in each place in order to be able to do this! Totally worth it.
One of the communities we love to explore is the Santa Fe Arts District. Even though many of the galleries are closed because of COVID and there is no longer any First Fridays, there are still some thriving stores in the district.
One such place is our dear friends over at Green Lady Gardens, who outfitted our entire 2 bed, 2 bath condo with the most GORGEOUS plants. Although the decorations from our travels abroad (mostly paintings) are amazing, the lively green plants really created the look I was going for in this apartment. It’s truly a mystical, maximalist wonderland. Let me show you!
So as you can see… I love all the decorations in our home: the Padmasambhava painting we got from Nepal, the hanging wood man (can you spot him?!) we got at an antique store in Hermosa Beach, the tapestry we change out depending on the season, the Praying Lady we got from an upscale thrift store in Golden… But the plants just really make it. Our home would not be the same without these living, breathing creatures to make it more like living in a bohemian jungle – my DREAM!
Thanks again to Green Lady Gardens for customizing our entire home with plants that fit the right light and place in our home. Not only does this amazing shop truly CARE about their customers, but GLG has incredible ethics practices that include giving at least 5% of profits back to organizations that support environmental protection, social justice, empowering youth through the arts and environmental engagement, and supporting the Latino population of Colorado. If you are in Denver, it’s simple… Go to Green Lady Gardens for your plant needs! Oh and tell Jessica, Lauren from Bohemian by the Bay sent you 😉
Much love,
Lauren xoxo
