What to Wear to a Winery in the Spring

March 21, 2016

Happy International Happiness Day everyone! This weekend was magical and filled with happiness. I attended some events for the Flavor! Napa Valley festival, which was a five day extravaganza in Napa with over 40 events. The first event I went to was a guided wine tour to four boutique, under the radar and spectacular wineries, complete with our own Sommelier. It was fantastic. I’ll have more details (including the wineries you MUST go to) in a later blog post this week.

I was on the fence about what to wear to this event, mostly because I didn’t know what the weather would be like since it has been super rainy on and off in SF lately. I decided to go for one of my go-to winery staples, the maxi dress. It’s casual yet dressy enough to wear for a day in the vineyards. This one from Free People, is one of my favs. It’s boho yet has a bit more edge with it’s black color. And oh my, is it soft. It’s all sold out online, so I linked a few under the “SHOP THE POST” section that are similar.

Okay, I’ll give you a hint as to what winery these were shot at since I know you all are dying to know. It’s Spring Mountain Vineyard in St. Helena. One of the most if not the most beautiful winery I have ever been to. Such luscious gardens, old architecture and a smooth Cab.

Can’t wait to show you guys my next posts- I’ll take you inside the events at Flavor Napa!

Love,
Lauren

Green Maxi Dress

March 2, 2016

I have always been drawn to the color green, especially when it’s army green or any green that resembles nature. I think it’s part of who I am, being from Colorado and growing up near grassy fields and coniferous trees. I try to incorporate that same feeling of serenity and freedom found in nature into my wardrobe. I also draw inspiration from my surroundings, which in San Francisco include everything from light green and blue succulents to pastel-colored architecture. That is one of my favorite things about San Francisco, the abundance of natural and man-made surroundings that make the city unique. From the moss-covered sidewalks to the vine-covered alleyways, there is really nothing like it.

Speaking of, I stumbled upon the most perfect alleyway near my street on the way to brunch. It’s amazing when you take things a little slower how much you realize you miss in the busy hustle and bustle of life. Anyway, enough of this sappy reflection and musing. I picked out this Split Maxi Dress from Sheinside not only because it looked comfortable, but also because it’s in my favorite shade of green 🙂

I paired the maxi dress with my new brown tote from Charming Charlie and my lace-up heels that I have had since forever (I’m glad I kept them, some things do come back in style!).

Love,
Lauren
