Hi loves! I am in the midst of a long travel journey across the US and worldwide with my fiancé, while building and scaling my online business. It’s been quite the test to balance traveling with growing an online business! We have been across the West Coast of the U.S. and now are on the East Coast exploring before we head to Europe for the end of this year. With all of this travel, it is even more important to keep with a morning routine to be the most productive with your days and to keep the body, mind and spirit in the best shape. In my morning routine, I usually keep things simple to make sure that I have enough time to do the most important things and not over-burden myself by adding too much. If you are just starting a morning routine, I would keep things simple as well and start small so that you actually BELIEVE you can incorporate it into your daily routine. Mindset is the first step.
Below are the 3 non-negotiable things that I incorporate into my morning routine to make sure I keep my energy high with all the traveling, shifting time zones, etc.
1. Meditation – You can read more about my meditation journey in this blog post, but to keep it short, I do at least 30 minutes of meditation first thing in the morning, before anything else (except maybe going to the bathroom). I center myself, sift out all the erroneous thoughts that may creep into my head and get back to the reason for WHY I am doing what I am doing. Are my actions aligning with my higher self? With my purpose? If not, how can I bring myself back to center?
2. Walking/Sunlight – Every day needs to have some sort of movement. Without this movement, your body and lymph fluids cannot circulate and energy gets stuck because of this. Every morning after meditation, I either walk outside in the sunlight (also good for Vitamin D, which is needed to make calcium and your bones strong) or do some sort of yoga/qi gong inside if the weather is not great. This is super important to keep your muscles in shape and move energy in your body.
3. Hot Tea – Lately Joe (my fiancé) has been drinking coffee, but coffee does not sit well with my system because I cannot handle a lot of caffeine… to much results in a crash or an upset stomach afterwards. I have switched to tea, specifically TeaWell Matcha Green in the morning (low caffeine) and Turmeric Spice in the evening. I hope small changes like this can get us back into balance with our mind, body and spirit.
