Wrap Maxi Skirt

June 27, 2016

This weekend was absolutely beautiful in the city. It was in the high 70’s all weekend, the Pride festival was in full affect and the sun was shining. Weekends like these make me love living in this city. On Saturday, I explored around Japantown for the first time since moving here with my friend Shikha. Although I have tasted a mean Korean BBQ in Japantown, I’ve never taken the time to walk around there. We went to a few shops and wandered in Crown & Crumpet, the CUTEST tea shop I’ve ever seen. I was dressed for the part with a long wrap skirt I picked up from the Amour Vert event earlier this week.

I paired the wrap skirt with my black lace-up wedges, a light sea foam green colored tank and a really useful black tote from Charming Charlie. This wrap skirt is such a great summer staple- the length is midi (so in), the fabric allows for great movement, and this skirt itself it is cut from the highest quality Mulberry silk.

Amour Vert (means GREEN LOVE in French… swoon) is such a great brand. I’ve fallen in love with their unique styles and the way they go about sustainable fashion with non toxic dyes, sensuous fabrics and innovative techniques. If you haven’t checked out their Hayes Valley store, be sure to pop in!

Love,
Lauren

Ziggit x Bohemian by the Bay

June 24, 2016

As many of you know, last weekend I headed to Clark, Colorado (outside of Steamboat) for our annual family Father’s Day trip. One of the main activities my family likes to do outdoors is hike, so that is how we spent the last day in Steamboat. Hiking is such a great way to get exercise and relieve stress. For our hike, I packed along my hand-dandy Herschel backpack, and dressed it up with some fun pins I got from Ziggit. These pins are such a fun way to express yourself, and I love how you can pin them on just about anything without punching holes! I chose the letters to spell “WILD”, because that’s how I feel when I’m outdoors and in nature.

If you all are looking for hikes around Steamboat, Colorado, I highly recommend this hike. It was around Pearl Lake, which is often referred to as the “hidden gem” of all the lakes in Steamboat. The fresh breeze from the lake is a definite relief from the heat in the summer time.

Hope you guys are liking all of my pictures from back home! These are the last of them 🙁

Love,
Lauren

Floral Maxi Dress

June 24, 2016

If you haven’t already noticed a trend in my recent posts, it’s been of the maxi dress. I absolutely love this trend- I would definitely wear one everyday to work if I could. Maxi dresses are the perfect mix of chic and free-spirited. Not to mention they are extremely comfortable and breezy (if you know what I mean). One of my favorite picks this season is a floral print maxi, like the one I am wearing here from Sheinside. I like this website for trendy, seasonal pieces.

I photographed this outfit in Hayes Valley, so naturally I explored and shopped around after the shoot. The pink wall above is supposedly one of the most photographed walls in SF (copying the pink wall at Paul Smith on Melrose, perhaps?). It’s located at Miette, a cute pastry shop in Hayes Valley. Have a peek and snap some pics here like I did!

Love,
Lauren

Two-tone Backless Wrap Dress

June 23, 2016

I just got back from my annual Father’s Day family celebration in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. It was all that I hoped it would be and more; filled with hiking, thunderstorms, fishing, s’mores-making, relaxing and this beautiful backless wrap dress. Hard to go back to work this week, but SO happy I was able to see my family.

I brought along some unique items on this trip, and some not-so unique (aka sweatpants for days). One of the more unique pieces was this stunning backless wrap dress from CECloset. What makes this dress so unique is that you can wear it multiple ways, with the criss-cross in the back and the tie in the front or the tie in the back (as I am wearing below). I love the contrasting color choice of the dress as well. I paired the dress with my easy-to-pack gladiator sandals. You know me, always trying to achieve that laid back, bohemian-chic style.

Crystal, the main designer of these pieces is quite inspiring- she quit her day job (full-time to part-time) to pursue her passion of fashion design. I love supporting creatives like her! Not to mention the quality of her clothes is fabulous. I have another dress from Crystal as well, as seen on my that I am going to shoot soon, so be on the lookout! Can’t wait to show you guys more 🙂

Love,
Lauren
