With the New Year in full swing, I am in the mood for cleaning. New years are new starts, and therefore are the perfect time to refresh your space and get rid of all the clutter from the previous year. Having moved twice in 2016, I definitely got rid of a lot of things that I did not need. That being said, my new space is still cluttered! I am now taking the time to unpack everything and get organized in my new space. One of the things I like to be the most organized is my desk. My desk is where I write and where my creative process often happens, so I like to keep it clutter-free. I am in the process of creating a mood board to help with my creative process- but until then, my Pinterest will have to do (I’ve been pinning away lately)!
To keep your desk clutter-free and allow the creative process to flow, I’ve rounded up some essentials that I love. My style is definitely bohemian-chic, and I like mixing edgy pieces with a touch of bohemian flair, so when I saw this custom palm-print laptop case from CaseApp, I knew I had to have it! My previous laptop case was getting a bit dingy, so I needed a replacement ASAP. Having a laptop case is a great way to refresh one of your most used items and have it feeling like new again.
Some other items that I purchased to organize my desk were from Sugar Paper, the cutest stationary company from LA and sold at Target. I purchased a pink storage box, pen, and notebook folder from their Desk Collection. I wanted most of the items on my desk to be simple and modern, with a pop of pattern like my laptop cover.
One last item I purchased to refresh my current electronics was a new custom phone case, also from CaseApp. I really enjoy the pink and gold marble detail- can you see a theme here for my accessories/desk space? One thing to note if you are thinking of purchasing these phone cases, be sure to specify whether you want matte or glossy finish! The first one I bought was matte, but the second was glossy and I definitely like the glossy better.
After all of these items were purchased and my boxes ready to unpack, I used the Sugar Paper box to store my notebooks, mail, and planner, and left my laptop out so you can see the design. I also bought a gold pen holder and lamp from Target, but other than that there’s not too much on my desk!
Are you all cleaning out for the New Year?
