Bohemian by the Bay

A life + style guide for the modern bohemian woman

Re:Make Brit + Co Recap

September 23, 2015

A couple weekends ago I attended the Re:Make DIY Event at the Festival Pavilion at Fort Mason. It was an event filled with DIY stations, photo booths, and local artisans selling their work. It was lovely to see all kinds of different makers at this event- from custom cards, to food, to jewelry to clothing. I attended with Tiffany of Sunshine Daydream Photography for her two year blog anniversary. What a fun way to celebrate. Scroll to the end for some of my favorite vendors! (Be warned: their stuff is WAY cute and you might end up spending more than you bargained for, but totally worth it)

Some of my favorite brands at the event:

Bethany Eden– water color art
Ficks– hangover cure beverage
Esselle– handcrafted goods
Shades of Sugar Bakeshop– macaroons… enough said
Sarah Walsh– illustration
Honey My Heart– jewelry
Unurth– home goods

Hope you enjoy these as much as I did! I might be going back for some purchases myself…

Love,
BB xx

Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay

July 26, 2015

Despite the mediocre weather yesterday, my friend Melanie and I walked down to Fort Mason for a shoot after hitting our favorite acai bowl joint, Basik Cafe. Little did I know, Fort Mason is bustling with some really cute hidden restaurants, right near the bay. One such we walked by that I can’t wait to try is Green Restaurant, with buttermilk biscuits, pancakes, pupusas, scrambles and hummus platters all on the menu. There I go talking about my love of food again…

Ever since I purchased these linen pants from GAP about a week ago, I have lived in them. They are the perfect transition from work to play, and they even can work in corporate workplaces! I dressed them up a tad bit with black strap heels, but before I did so, I tried them on with booties and sandals and both styles looked equally as cute.

I am beginning to transition from buying trendy, wear-one-time pieces to classic, wear-until-they-fall-apart staple pieces; even if they are more expensive. Here are 5 reasons you should splurge on staple pieces:

1. They last longer (high quality)

2. You save money in the long term (they don’t go out of style)

3. You have less clutter in your closet (from all those trendy pieces)

4. They easily transition from work to play (think: LDB)

5. You are helping the economy (money is just money, right?)

My next “splurge”: Madewell Tote.

What I’m Wearing:
“Late Nights & Whiskey” Tank: Top Knot Goods
Jogger Pants: GAP
Black Heels: H&M
Jewelry: Rocksbox
Hat: Thrifted at Melrose Trading Post

New content awaits soon <3

Love you all,
BB xx

Renegade Craft Fair

July 27, 2014

Hello again! I have been meaning to post this since last Saturday when I attended the Renegade Craft fair in SF. It was filled with a hundred different handmade vendors and artists, all with unique skills. There was truly something for everyone: bath soaps, recycled paper products and stationary, jewelry, clothing, fragrances, and home goods just to name a few. It was love at first sight for me for almost all of them. I wanted to give you a list of vendors that were my personal favorites, so you can go check them out and find some goodies for yourself! I love supporting local brands and products, so go have a look!

Some of my favorites:
Shades of Sugar Bakeshop
Delusions of Grandeur
Nell & Mary
Oh Hello Friend
Sienne Josselin
For Strange Women
Lady Faye Jewelry
Molly M Designs
Diament Jewelry
Hope you enjoy!
