Floral Maxi Dress

If you haven’t already noticed a trend in my recent posts, it’s been of the maxi dress. I absolutely love this trend- I would definitely wear one everyday to work if I could. Maxi dresses are the perfect mix of chic and free-spirited. Not to mention they are extremely comfortable and breezy (if you know what I mean). One of my favorite picks this season is a floral print maxi, like the one I am wearing here from Sheinside. I like this website for trendy, seasonal pieces.

I photographed this outfit in Hayes Valley, so naturally I explored and shopped around after the shoot. The pink wall above is supposedly one of the most photographed walls in SF (copying the pink wall at Paul Smith on Melrose, perhaps?). It’s located at Miette, a cute pastry shop in Hayes Valley. Two-tone Backless Wrap Dress

I just got back from my annual Father’s Day family celebration in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. It was all that I hoped it would be and more; filled with hiking, thunderstorms, fishing, s’mores-making, relaxing and this beautiful backless wrap dress. Hard to go back to work this week, but SO happy I was able to see my family.

I brought along some unique items on this trip, and some not-so unique (aka sweatpants for days). One of the more unique pieces was this stunning backless wrap dress from CECloset. What makes this dress so unique is that you can wear it multiple ways, with the criss-cross in the back and the tie in the front or the tie in the back (as I am wearing below). I love the contrasting color choice of the dress as well. I paired the dress with my easy-to-pack gladiator sandals. You know me, always trying to achieve that laid back, bohemian-chic style.

Crystal, the main designer of these pieces is quite inspiring- she quit her day job (full-time to part-time) to pursue her passion of fashion design. I love supporting creatives like her! Not to mention the quality of her clothes is fabulous. I have another dress from Crystal as well, as seen on my that I am going to shoot soon, so be on the lookout! Can’t wait to show you guys more 🙂

White Lace Up Top

This weekend was so gorgeous in the city. Sometimes it just so happens that the weather in SF is terrible during the week and beautiful on the weekend! Just the way I like it. This weekend, I made the most of the weather and went to Chrissy Beach, which is right next to Chrissy Field in the Marina. It’s a lesser known beach, but it has great views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Although it was windy (when is it ever not) I took advantage of the sunshine and strolled along the beach with my friend Hannah. You guys remember my friend who I helped with the Weddington Way shoot? Yes, she’s amazing and she just launched her own shop for creatives called Pretty Techie. Be sure to check it out and you won’t be disappointed.

Anyway, I wore this great new white lace up top I got from Sheinside. I love this alternative placement of the lace up trend. The neckline is super cute too, but it is refreshing to see the lace up appear in unexpected places 🙂

I paired the lace up top with some of my favorite thrifted high-waisted Levi’s shorts, and tagged some similar below that you can shop. I also wore a wide brim hat to top the look off. I don’t know about you all, but I am completely obsessed with wide brim straw hats these days, like this one. That hat gets me and I need it.

I’m headed on a mini vaca back to my hometown of Colorado this weekend for Father’s Day! Follow along on snap–> Bohemianbybay! We are going to my absolute favorite place in the world.

Lavender Essential Oil


San Francisco has opened me up to a whole new sense of smell. The native flora here is vast and incredible. We’ve got everything from palm trees to wildflowers. Two of my absolute favorite scents that we have here are eucalyptus and lavender. Every time I head to the Presidio (where a LOT of eucalyptus trees live) or the Marina (where the best lavender is) I stop to take it all in.

The city has brought me to love these scents so much that I have incorporated them into my daily routine. Naturally, lavender is a relaxant, so I use lavender lotion before bed and any time I am stressed. I recently bought this lavender essential oil from Avenir Oils to sprinkle droplets in my underwear drawer. I want to carry the scent with me throughout the day!
