    Black Double Buckle Belt

Hi lovelies! As festival season wraps up and fall is just around the corner, I wanted to give you my opinion on items that can move from one season to the next. One such piece is a black double buckle belt I recently got from Back East Boutique. If I would have gotten this before Outside Lands, I would have definitely worn it. But I do think that it can be paired with other pieces for fall as well. I wore the black double buckle belt with my high-waisted black jeans and a , also from Back East Boutique.

    Fringe Kimono

One of the trends this season I am loving is fringe. Whether the fringe be on leather jackets, skirts, heels, earrings, or kimonos, I am loving all of it. So naturally when I found this fringe kimono, I was in love. I wore this on a Saturday out in SF, which was perfect because as we all know by now, SF summers are very cold. I paired the fringe kimono with some staple pieces in my closet: a black jumpsuit and my black strap heels.

    Sheer Kimono

Last weekend, I got the chance to visit one of the places on my long to “Places to Visit in LA” list. We ditched the LA heat (kinda) and headed to the LACMA. To prepare for the long day ahead, I packed lots of water and wore an outfit fit for the heat. I wanted to wear my sheer kimono I got from Charming Charlie for a little sun coverage, so I paired it with a high neck tank from Urban. To top the look off, I wore one of my fav pairs of high-waisted shorts, also from Urban. We wandered around the LACMA and saw some really, really awesome pieces of art. It was definitely the definition of an ideal Saturday.

    Tortoiseshell Round Sunglasses

One of my absolute favorite trends this summer are round sunglasses. They have a classic 70’s vibe and instantly up the coolness factor of any outfit. I wore this tortoiseshell pair, from Kapten & Son, an uber cool brand that sells watches and glasses with a nautical-hipster vibe, to the park on a sunny SF Sunday (I know… sometimes we have those, weird, right?). I paired them with a sheer black romper and my summer booties I recently purchased. The look was laid back, but effortlessly cool with these sunnies on.

I have tagged some similar pairs down below for you all to shop, but I really do recommend Kapten & Son for their high-quality sunglasses. I haven’t purchased a watch from them before, but I imagine they are just as good of quality.

What are some of your favorite trends this summer? Comment below, I would love to know!

    Love,
    Lauren

    White Lace Up Dress

Nothing screams summer more than white clothes. I love this seasonal trend (ssshhh, I even think you can wear it year long) on everything from jeans, to tops, to dresses. One of my favorite white dresses for this summer, from Twenty5A, mixes this seasonal trend with the lace up trend that is still happening from fall. Give me a bohemian crochet and I’m all in!

I paired this white dress with my go-to lace up sandals. I think I need another pair of these, no? I feel like I wear these all too often, but they really match with almost everything. This dress would also be great for those late summer festivals that everyone is dying to go to… Ahem, Outside Lands. It actually might be a top contender in my list of outfits for that festival.

I wore this dress on a nice Sunday stroll through McKinley Square, a lovely hidden park in Portrero Hill. There were families barbecuing, people practicing yoga, and you guessed it… People wandering around playing Pokemon! I cannot believe how big of a sensation this game is. I might have to consider jumping on the bandwagon. After all, I did actively collect Pokemon cards back in the day.

Anyway, I’ve got some more shoots in the works, so stay tuned!

    Love,
    Lauren

How to Stay Hydrated this Summer

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and The Coca-Cola Company. All opinions are mine alone. #SummerHydration #CollectiveBias

Hi babes! I hope you all had a wonderful and long holiday weekend. I spent mine exploring Southern California, both in LA and San Diego. Before traveling to San Diego to meet up with some friends for the fourth, my boyfriend and I began our long weekend with a drive in the mountains of Los Angeles (or should we say hills… I can say that because I’m from Colorado). I didn’t pack much with me, besides my purse and some hydration essentials.

When I am at work at my desk all day, I find it easier to stay hydrated since you can easily refill and go to the bathroom as you please. On the weekends or for long trips, however, I find it difficult to stay hydrated all day. But it is really, really important to prevent headaches, dry hair, dehydration (obviously), heat exhaustion, early wrinkles and a multitude of other health problems. That’s why I partnered with CVS and The Coca-Cola Company to share some tips to stay hydrated this summer (and look cute doing it I might add). Be sure to read these tips and tricks from other bloggers for summer hydration as well!

How I stay hydrated during the summer:

    1. Pack more than you think you need- head to your local CVS for a quick pick up of your favorite beverages, usually at least two drinks per person for an afternoon. Also, you never know when you will get a chance to refill!

    2. Hydrate with water first- my first choice for staying hydrated is water. Without any added sugar or calories, it is the perfect natural thirst quencher. smartwater even has some added electrolytes, so it’s my go-to.

    3. Tea in the afternoon- I like to drink water all morning then switch to tea to beat that afternoon slump with a little caffeine. Honest Tea has some great, healthy choices (just choose ones without all the added sugar- I like the Honey Green Tea as shown above).

Much love and cheers to staying healthy and hydrated this summer!

    Love,
    Lauren

    Summer Suede Choker

Before I left for Steamboat, Colorado, I had the opportunity to shoot with Lauren O’Neil, a Boston based photographer, designer and friend. I love the interesting angles Lauren shoots from and her edgy, street-style vibe. It’s interesting to pair our two styles; mine being more feminine bohemian and hers more minimal. I have to say I love the results!

I wore a more casual outfit to match her style and she shot in places that matched my style, and the whole thing just worked. I paired a casual Madewell tee with my go-to black skinnies and these new boots I’m obsessed with. This is a typical weekend look for me (I would live in skinny jeans if I could!). To top the look off, I wore this suede choker from Ettika (also on Revolve.com!). Being a 90’s baby, I LOVE the current choker trend that is happening right now. Anyone remember those black tattoo chokers from back in the day?! Well they’re back!

I’m currently in LA/SD for the long weekend and holiday, so you can follow along my adventures on Snapchat (Bohemianbybay). I hope you all have a happy and safe 4th of July!

Look forward to some fun stuff coming on the blog 🙂

    Love,
    Lauren
