In the span of a month, I’ve been to Bacara Resort, a wonderful resort-like Airbnb and now Terranea Resort. To save myself from sounding bragg-y, I am mentioning these to show that I learned a bit about the do’s and don’t’s of what to wear to a nice resort. When I first arrived at Bacara for the Ole Henriksen Glow Camp, I was dressed in a sweater and jeans (I what you’re thinking… I was going for that casual-comfy look), but boy was that a miss. The key to dressing the part at a beach resort is to wear resort wear. And what do I mean by resort wear? Maxi skirts, maxi dresses, really anything maxi, wedges, nice capris, blouses, and exercise wear (cause we all exercise on vacation right?!).
For a day of wine tasting at Terranea when my mom was in town, I decided on a maxi skirt, my lace up dress (which I wore as a shirt in this case), and my suede wedges. This look worked well for strolling along the pathways at the resort with some champagne in hand and not being too uncomfortable while at it.

I would say that in the summer time, there’s no need to wear a sweater like I did here, because it can get way too hot. Since mine was light, it worked out well. But in the summer months, no sweaters are needed 🙂 Maybe just a light jacket for the night.
I am extremely lucky that my job (both full time and my blog) take me to such neat places, and for that I am forever grateful. I can’t wait to see what the next month brings! I’m thinking I want to escape this heat… and maybe do a winter resort wear post!!
As a born-and-raised beach bum, I love all of the bohemian styles for relaxing in paradise. My mom was one for practicality more than style, but I always feel like I enjoy a vacation more when I also feel like I look good. I like your style, and I am excited to find some new items for my next vacation.
love the print on your skirt!

Hi Helen! Thank you for commenting! I am for practicality as well, but you have to sacrifice some things for the sake of fashion, right?!
