Malibu Family Wines

May 31, 2015

Last weekend I ventured into the rolling hills of Malibu with my friend Hannah, my first time east of the PCH and let me tell you, it won’t be my last. The rocky coastline transcends into hills glittered with the most beautiful houses you have ever seen. So majestic, like something out of a movie. I hope the novelty of traveling new places in California never wears off, because right now I feel like I’m living in a dream.

For this occasion, I wore an elephant print mini dress that I thrifted in Santa Monica the day before. Right now I am really into the small, neutral colored prints since they pair well with statement pieces, like this bohemian bib necklace. To a winery, I would recommend dressing up a tad bit- especially to one like Malibu Family Wines, where the majority of people are well-dressed socialites wearing maxi dresses and straw hats. Needless to say, I would highly recommend this winery for the experience if you have a Saturday free in Malibu.

What I’m Wearing:
Dress: thrifted, originally from Peppermint
Necklace: Borrowed from a friend, but available at Nordstrom- similar here
Shoes: thrifted from Buffalo Exchange

Got some good stuff coming your way this week, lovelies!

Let me know if there is anything that you guys would like me to post about! I am open to suggestions.

Much love,
BB xx

Bohemian by the Bay x Threadflip

May 29, 2015

Hi all! I’m super excited to announce a collaboration I am doing with Threadflip, an online resale boutique that specializes in flipping your closet and reselling your gently used clothes. When I first heard of this idea, I was absolutely in love with it as I am an avid Buffalo Exchange and Crossroads seller. With Threadflip, all you have to do is have a closet of clothes to sell- they send you a shipping kit and process the clothes for you. There is no hassle trucking your clothes across town (especially hard for me since I have no car) or waiting in the store until they sort through your items. You even get some proceeds when the clothes sell. Sounds good, right? I think it is a brilliant idea and I am truthfully upset that I didn’t think of it first 🙂

I recommend checking out some of their boho pieces in The New Boho x Bohemian in Black and White, like these Madewell and J. Crew pieces (which I actually almost bought).

Now that I have used the service and uploaded my own closet, you can shop it here: Bohemian by the Bay

The bag I have featured in the above image is sold out, but I’ve got some classic pieces still available and I’m going to add more soon. Long live the “rotating closet” as my Mom says.

Santa Monica Exploring

May 28, 2015

Long time no talk, lovelies! I’m glad I finally got around to posting after this long weekend. How was everyone’s Memorial Day? Mine was somewhat relaxing, and a little stressful but I ended up getting some good shots in Santa Monica. After some binge shopping, my friend Hannah and I went to brunch at Bru’s Wiffle, a waffle joint in Santa Monica with the best chicken and waffles. I tried a bite of the fried chicken with goat cheese and honey waffle and it was TO DIE FOR. To brunch, I wore one of the new tops I got that weekend and decided to go more casual with a denim on denim look.

I paired the tie denim shirt with a darker skinny, my go-to’s from GAP and my black booties. If you don’t already have a go-to pair of skinnies and black shoes, I highly recommend mine! Every girl needs her staples 🙂 To top off the look, I wore stacked gold rings of various shapes and sizes, with a delicate bracelet. I don’t think you can ever go wrong with too much simple, gold jewelry in one outfit.

What I’m Wearing:
Denim top: Madewell (not online but on sale in stores!)
Skinny jeans: GAP
Black Booties: Sam Edelman
Rings: Thrifted

Got another post coming atcha soon!

Love,
BB xx

Bohemian Details

May 17, 2015

Crazy to think that I’ve lived in San Francisco for five months now and I still haven’t seen all the neighborhoods. This weekend two of my friends and I ventured to Cole Valley, a neighborhood a little south of the Haight district. I had been wanting to try Zazie, a brunch place known for it’s Bloody Mary’s and orange cinnamon batter French Toast. I didn’t get the Bloody, but I had to try the French Toast. Oh, myyy. Delicious. I highly recommend this spot, it’s worth the hour wait if you want greasy, delicious, real brunch food.

After eating at Zazie, we strolled through the Cole Valley neighborhood to the Haight, to chill in the panhandle park area. The houses in this area are all unique and original, mostly because they survived the major Earthquake SF had years back (as I was so kindly informed by my friend Hannah).

For this Saturday girls outing, I wore my only pair of ripped jeans, which are super in for summer if you are looking to get a pair (hint, hint, you should). Mine are a boyfriend fit, but I like the skinnies the most. JBrand has got some great pairs. I wore a summery hat I got last weekend at Melrose Trading Post, a flea market in L.A., and some jewelry I picked up there too.

What I’m Wearing:
Ripped Jeans: Bullhead Denim Co.
Hat: Melrose Trading Post
Jewelry: See above
Booties: Sam Edelman

My new lens, new site, new look are makin’ me feel just dandy. Hope you lovelies are having a nice weekend 🙂

Love,
BB xx
