Enchantment in Carmel

February 20, 2015

Hey lovelies! I have one more special post from my time in Carmel. I raved about the enchanting town in my last post, but let me remind you- it was something out of a fairy tale. I seriously felt like like I stepped out of a movie the whole time I was there.

For walking around town in the evening, I selected a polka-dot button down that tied at the waist and a cream sweater for the slight chill. What’s my deal with polka-dots these days? Don’t ask me, but I wore the only two polka-dot pieces I own to Carmel. In any case, these H&M jeans are everything- so broken in and perfect for strolling 🙂

What I’m Wearing:
Polka-dot button-down: Cotton On
Skinny jeans: H&M
Suede booties: Madewell
Cream sweater: J. Crew

Who knows what I’ll be up to next- I’m thinking some city vibes since I’ve done so many weekend getaways lately!

Much love,
BB

Musings in Monterey

February 17, 2015

Hope you all had a relaxing long weekend! For my weekend, I planned a little getaway retreat to Carmel, also known as Carmel-by-the-sea. There was a golf tournament this weekend in the town, so it was a little crowded, still kept it’s quaint aura. The town itself had a very French colonial vibe to it with the cottages covered in moss with thatched roofs like something out of The Hobbit. I loved it. The morning mist crept through the window in the small loft at our B&B and I thought man, I could retire here!

Dreamy thoughts aside, we were in a rush to leave my apartment in SF, so my outfit packing for this trip was a little half-hazard. I didn’t have time to even pack a jacket and my legs were freezing in these photos. When I go there next, I will definitely pack a little better. For this post I paired my A-line polka-dot vest with a cable J.Crew sweater to go with the preppy, golf-course vibe in Carmel. I wore TOMS to the beach because they can be easily cleaned after they are ruff-and-tumbled.

What I’m Wearing:
Polka-Dot Dress: Glasson’s
Shoes: TOMS
Cable-knit Sweater: J. Crew

Another post from this weekend coming soon!

Much love,
BB xx

If You’re a Bird I’m a Bird

February 12, 2015

Hello beautiful people! This past weekend was magical. One of my best friends and I headed to her lake house in Copperopolis to get away from the city for a few days. It was a much needed weekend filled with fine food, wine, and relaxation. I figured it would be a perfect time to do a shoot too, because not many people are up at the lake and it can be a little hard to pack for such a weekend when there are not many activities to do except lounging. For this reason, I paired stretchy jeans with a billowy floral top and pullover sweater for a comfy yet practical look not only for relaxing but also for a little bit of exploring around the lake. My Hunter rain boots were a must, especially when it rained eighty percent of the time I was there. The boots are worth the investment, they even keep your feet dry in snow!

The whole weekend reminded me of the rainy days at the lake reminiscent of scenes in The Notebook. Still swooning.

What I’m Wearing:
Skinny jeans: H&M
Green rain boots: Hunter
Floral top: Ecote (Urban Outfitters)
Sweater: H&M
Hat: Charming Charlie

I’m headed somewhere even more romantic for V-Day next weekend. Stay tuned 🙂

Hayes Valley Sunshine

February 2, 2015

Hayes Valley on a Saturday. One of my favorite places to be. Lined with unique boutiques, farm to table restaurants and ice cream parlors, Hayes Street is a destination spot. My favorite store in Hayes Valley has to be Lavish, a card store that has an entire wall designed by Anna Bond of Rifle Paper Company. Everything this lady designs turns to gold. The bubbly flowers and cursive writing are so playful, I die! Be sure to check out her designs if you haven’t already.

For this sunny day, I should have opted for shorts but instead, I wore the complete opposite- linen pants. Oooof was that a mistake. I wanted to wear them though, cause they are new and needed to be properly broken in. I paired the pants with sandals and a billowy top for a playful yet sophisticated vibe.

What I’m Wearing:
High-waisted pants: American Apparel
Black silk top: H&M
Black bag: The Limited
Brown Strappy Sandals: Target

Much love,
BB
