Strolling down Abbott Kinney

January 25, 2015

One of the other amazing places I went when I was in SoCal was Venice. We began the day shopping and eating along Abbott Kinney, made ever so famous by the show ‘Californication’ which I am loving at the moment. If you are ever in this area, be sure to try the restaurant Gjelina, which has some incredible farm-to-table produce. To go with the too-cool-for-school vibes here, I went with an ultra-hipster look. I paired a camel leather side-zip skirt with an old Rolling Stones t-shirt and my favorite Sam Edelman booties. I think it came out pretty cool, ya? Can’t wait to go back to some of the restaurants I saw strolling down Abbott Kinney next time I’m down south.

What I’m Wearing:
Rolling Stones t-shirt: Thrifted (of course)
Wool hat: Forever21
Camel Skirt: H&M
Booties: Sam Edelman
Black bag: The Limited

Much love,
BB xx

Breakfast at Tiffany’s

January 13, 2015

This shoot was set in an extra special place- my friend’s top floor apartment. It has a quintessential San Francisco city vibe and it’s absolutely to die for. We decided to shoot outside on the fire escape which was a little dangerous, but totally worth it. The views were incredible up there. There is something so charming about windowsills and fire escapes, almost romantic thanks to Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. To complete the look and feel, I wore a floppy hat that I got for Christmas from Charming Charlie’s and a long graphic t-shirt dress thrifted from Buffalo Exchange a while ago. This has to be one of my favorite shoots yet.

“Moon river, wider than a mile
I’m crossing you in style some day
Oh dream maker, you heart breaker
Wherever you’re going, I’m going your way
Two drifters off to see the world
There’s such a lot of world to see
We’re after the same rainbow’s end
Waiting ’round the bend, my huckleberry friend
Moon river and me”

What I’m wearing:
Black tweed jacket: Gap similar here
Black t-shirt dress: Thrifted
Shoes: Lucky Brand
Floppy hat: Charming Charlie (they also have some great ones from Forever21)

Cheers to a new week in the new year.

Love,
BB

Weekend Strolls

January 11, 2015

Happy Sunday! I am on a role with these blog posts, right? Three in one week is impressive, 2015 is off to a great start. I hope I can keep this up and do around 2 posts per week. With the recent warmer weather in San Francisco (it was freezing earlier), I was able to wear this dress designed by Jason Wu for Target around for a day of shopping. It has little navy wheels printed on it, which I think is just the cutest pattern. I received a few compliments on it, so it’s definitely a conversation starter. Plus I like to be different than what the norm is in SF (white on black on grey). A little pattern or pop of color here and there won’t hurt anyone. I paired the dress with my suede Madewell booties which I love if you couldn’t already tell. I also buttoned up the collar all the way like the hipster I am and wore a J.Crew necklace around it as a statement collar piece. I hope you like!

What I’m Wearing:
Wheel button-up dress: Jason Wu for Target
White sweater: J.Crew
Statement Necklace: J.Crew
Suede booties: Madewell
Maroon skinny belt: Forever 21

Stay tuned for more adventures (hint: outside of SF to come)

Love,
BB xx

Polka Dot Daze

January 8, 2015

Happy Thursday! I know it’s odd to find me posting on a Thursday, but I just have too many good outfits for you guys 🙂 When I first walked into Anthropologie and found this gem of a dress on sale, I knew it had to be mine. I didn’t get it the first time around, but I found myself thinking about it after I didn’t purchase it (don’t you hate when that happens). So, I went back. The dress was there, all polka-dotty and ready for me. Tip: if you want to find things at their cheapest at Anthropologie, go to their store right after Christmas- sale was an extra 25% off. You all know I’m a sucker for sales and never buy anything full price.

Stick around for another post this week (three in one week, oh my!).

What I’m Wearing:
Polka Dot Dress: Anthropologie
Jacket: Old Navy
Suede Boots: Thrifted (Originally from Lucky Brand)
Leather Tote: Handmade from Italy

Love,
BB

P.S. The sale at Anthro is still going on! Check it out!
